European perfume houses developed distinct formulations in response to this demand. The Officina formulation opens with Calabrian bergamot, citrus and neroli; develops through a heart of petitgrain, rosemary, lavender and clove; and settles on a base of Sumatra benzoin and civet.

Miles ★★★★★

The first spritz hits with a bright bergamot and neroli burst that feels genuinely old-world, and the clove in the heart keeps it from turning too sweet. I’ve worn it on warm evenings and the lavender-rosemary base lingers nicely without shouting.

Brian A. ★★★★★

The dry-down is where this really shines—that Sumatra benzoin gives it a warm, resinous sweetness that lingers for hours on my skin. I’ve worn it to the office and out to dinner, and the lavender and clove keep it grounded without feeling heavy.

Victoria I. ★★★★★

The clove and lavender heart keeps it from being just another citrus cologne—it's got real depth, and the benzoin base lingers for hours on my collar. Feels like something my grandfather would've worn, but it wears modern on me.
