Tabacco Toscano Glass Candle, made from Tuscan tobacco known as Herba catharinaria, named after Caterina de' Medici. Scented with bergamot, Tuscan tobacco leaves, leather, amber, birchwood, cedarwood and musk. Smoky and woody.

Description

Caterina de' Medici used tobacco as a remedy for migraines so often that the herb became known as Herba catharinaria. Tuscan tobacco, traditionally cured with wood smoke, gives the composition its intense and leathery character. The candle carries this smoky and woody accord, deepening into a resinous base of guaiacum, sandalwood and vanilla. From the Firenze 1221 collection.

How to use

Place on a heat-resistant surface before lighting. On first use, allow the wax to melt evenly across the entire surface. Trim the wick to 3–5 mm before each use and keep it centred. Do not burn for more than three hours at a time. Extinguish with a candle snuffer. Never leave unattended, and do not move while lit or while the wax remains liquid.

Brian ★★★★★

Bought this as a gift for myself and haven't stopped burning it since — the birchwood and bergamot blend smells like a cozy library in autumn. The throw is strong enough to fill my whole living room without being overpowering.

Lily T. ★★★★★

The amber and leather notes come through warm and smoky, and the Tuscan tobacco is unmistakably rich without being overpowering. It fills my living room in about twenty minutes and lingers nicely.

Mia J. ★★★★★

The bergamot cuts through the tobacco and leather beautifully, so it never gets too heavy for my living room. Burned it for a few evenings now and the cedarwood really comes out as it melts, feels like a cozy Tuscan study.
